The PSYCHOMECHANIKA series is a group of paintings inspired by the Biomechanical style of H.R. GIGER. I think a lot of tattooists of the 1990's were influenced by HR Giger. At The ASYLUM UNDERGROUND, the tattoo parlor I worked for, Biomechanical tattoos were very popular. The biomech style works so well with the skin that eventualy that's all I wanted to do. I would drill these demonic/ biomech /tribal tattoos into peoples flesh all day, and then at night I would goto my studio, grab an airbrush, and paint til the sun came up. The result is the PSYCHOMECH series that you see here. Some pieces are unfinished and some are just sketches, but I put most of the work up for all to see.

HR Giger is truly a visionary...an extremely talented artist, designer and sculptor. I see Biomech as an art movement, like the Impressionists...or the Cubists...or the Modernists. Biomech is constantly being improvised in surreal art and tattoos, it is here to stay! So, to all the Biomechanicists out there...PAINT ON!!
